    well-heeled这个词是由美国人创造的。据说过去人们在斗鸡的时候，会给鸡身上绑上马刺（heel/spur），参与战斗的鸡well-heeled才有可能获胜。后来，真正的武器逐渐演变为一种更强大的武器——钱，well-heeled也就变成了“有钱的”意思。比如：He is not so well-heeled as we expected. （他没有我们想的那么有钱。）
