        从今年夏天开始，进出英国机场的乘客都将通过无人看守的安检门接受脸部扫描，扫描结果将与存储在电脑中的数据进行比对和识别。此举意在提高航空旅行安全。

        European air travellers to Britain will be screened with automatic facial recognition technology from this summer in a bid to tighten security and ease congestion, the government said Friday.

        为了提高航空旅行的安全，同时缓解机场的拥堵现象，从今年夏季开始去往英国的各欧洲航线乘客都将接受一种面部识别技术对其脸部进行扫描。

        该报道中，automatic facial recognition technology 就是“面部自动识别技术”。一般在生物护照（biometric passport）中，需要存储的信息除了与面部识别有关外，还有“指纹识别”（fingerprint recognition/identification）和“虹膜识别”（iris recognition）信息。
