Today, I would like to share with you my experience of trying stinky tofu for the first time. Stinky tofu is a popular Chinese snack that can be found in snack bars. The name itself suggests that it has an unpleasant smell, which used to make me feel disgusted. Every time I walked past a snack bar selling stinky tofu, the horrible smell would make me want to vomit. Additionally, I was aware that it was deep-fried, which is not good for my health and skin, so I never had the desire to try it.

However, one day, while playing truth or dare with my friends, I was dared to take a bite of stinky tofu. Reluctantly, I went outside and bought a cube of stinky tofu. I struggled for a while, as it was really hard to hold my breath for that long. Finally, I summoned up the courage and took a bite. Surprisingly, it tasted amazingly good! The outer layer was crispy, while the inside was tender. Moreover, it had this incredibly palatable sauce, which made it even more savory. I instantly fell in love with it. In fact, just the thought of it makes my mouth water. I remember buying two boxes of stinky tofu that day and devouring them all without sharing with my friends. The smell almost killed them, but I had a fantastic time.

Since then, I have become more open to trying new foods that I had never considered before, such as spiders and sashimi. When I was 10 years old, our family had a small family celebration for my sister because she got accepted by a prestigious university. This is an important moment for our family, so we chose a well-known hotel in Shanghai. The environment and service there were really good. We ordered a large room and invited our relatives and some friends to come to the celebration. This was also a meaningful moment for my sister since she had devoted her time and energy to the college entrance examination. It was so glad to see a good result after all what she had done. So we tried to make the celebration memorable and unforgettable for her.

My mother and I decorated the room with fragrant roses and colorful balloons and ribbons. My father also ordered a large chocolate cake for the celebration. Since my father was so happy, he drank some wine during the dinner and he got a little drunk. After the dinner, we ate the cake for dessert and my aunt suggested that I should sing a song for my sister. It was my first time to perform in public and I was too shy to do that. But my sister encouraged me, so I sang a cheerful song for her. That was also the reason why I remember it so well.
