There are many reasons why people learn a foreign language. For some, it is out of necessity, such as moving to a foreign country to start a new life. They may feel like a fish out of water if they cannot communicate with the locals. For others, learning a language is a skill they want to acquire, but not necessarily for success. Those living in linguistically diverse areas (such as Europe) may want to learn a language in order to travel abroad, understand foreign cultures, and better enjoy their vacations. They can also read foreign books and watch foreign movies without the need for translation. And there are some who simply do it out of interest in learning, enjoying the challenge of acquiring new knowledge.

During my last summer vacation, I had the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunrise by the seaside in Zhoushan. As a nature lover, I was eager to experience this incredible sight. However, I was informed that I needed to wake up extremely early to catch the sunrise, preferably before 3 a.m.

That night, I set multiple alarm clocks to ensure I wouldn't oversleep. When the alarms went off, it took me a few minutes to gather my energy and get out of bed. I quickly freshened up and headed towards the beach with my family.

At first, it was still dark, but as time passed, the sky started to turn reddish due to the beams of sunlight. We waited in anticipation, and soon enough, the entire sky was illuminated. Half of the sun emerged from the horizon, and within seconds, the whole sun appeared, casting a beautiful glow on the sea. It was a sight I had never seen before.

This experience was truly unforgettable for me. Visiting a coastal city is not something I often get the chance to do, and even if I do, witnessing such a magnificent sunrise is not guaranteed. Weather conditions or changes in plans can easily disrupt such moments. Despite feeling drowsy for the rest of the day, it was well worth it.
