　　The most famous story in modern China is that during the warring states period, the festival commemorates the death of Qu Yuan, the poet of chu.在现代中国最著名的故事是，在周朝战国时期，这个节日是为了纪念楚国诗人屈原死亡。

　　Qu yuan was a member of the cabinet of the king of chu and served in the senior government office.屈原是楚王府的一名内阁成员，曾在高级官府任职。

　　He was a popular and respected official, but he was neglected by the emperor in the imperial court because of a jealous official.他是受人民爱戴且尊重的官员，但是因为同朝中嫉妒的官员作祟，被皇帝冷落。

　　However, when the king decided to ally with the increasingly powerful state of Qin, Qu was banished for opposing the alliance and even accused of treason.然而，当国王决定与日益强大的秦国结盟时，屈原因反对联盟而被驱逐，甚至被控叛国罪。
